Agri Services

It is KEL's endeavor to enhance the profitability of the farmers in agriculture business. To achieve this aim, KEL started Open Pollinated & Hybrid Seed production as a diversified business. KEL also aims to provide agronomic support and guidance to the farmers.

KEL controls agricultural land at Khurpia village. Earlier we were growing traditional crops such as Sugar cane, Wheat, Paddy. Now we have also started the cultivation of Strawberry, Gladiolus, Tube Roses, Marigold & other high value crops and organic farming. Besides the above, KEL has started production, processing and marketing of seeds of various cereal crops.

To carry out Research & Development (R&D) activities, KEL has established a R&D laboratory in 1995 in 2 hectares of land.

            Tissue Culture Plants

  1. Micro propagation of promising Sugarcane varieties

    Micro propagation of sugarcane of various early and general varieties through Tissue Culture technology was started in the year 1995. Scientific and Technical staff are involved in production of Tissue Culture plants. More than one lac tissue cultures are produced every year and distributed to the local sugarcane farmers at a very subsidised cost.

  3. Propagation by IN-VIVO proliferation Technique (IVP)

KEL has standardized a cost effective technique for fast multiplication of Sugarcane Tissue Culture plants. In this technique, Tissue Culture plants are transplanted & multiplied in open IVP beds. Because of this more plants can be produced  at 25% of the cost than multiplication and IN-VITRO as there is no requirement of a Lab.

i) Mass Multiplication of Trichogramma clonis
ii) Mass multiplication of Trichogramma japonicum
iii) Mass multiplication of Corsyara cephailonica as Lab Host
iv) Application of Trichogramma sp. on sugarcane crop to control the sugarcane borers.

Tricho-Cards of Trichogramma Clonis & Trichogramma Japonicum are produced and provided to the farmers on a 50% subsidized cost to control the attack of borers of sugarcane, paddy & vegetable crops.
